What is this risk assessment for?

This risk assessment is for a basic deployment of one of the teams lightweight portable masts. Site specific risk assessments may be required in addition to this assessment.

Trapping fingers/hands in locking areas of mast Team Members Warn members about trapping areas, provide gloves when erecting mast. Comms/ Event Lead
Trips – Guy lines Everyone Guy lines to be visible both day and night, either with hi-vis ribbon wrapped around them or use dayglow guy lines. Everyone
Trips – Pegs Everyone Pegs to be covered with cones to prevent tripping or walking in to. Everyone
Trips – Cable Everyone Coax cable to be fastened to the side of the mast via tape so its not lose, and if trailing along floor to be covered if possible. Everyone
Mast Falling Everyone Mast is to be properly secure by the means of guy lines and pegs or can fasten to railings and metal posts via jubilee clips. Everyone
Antenna falling of mast Everyone Antenna to be fastened securely to top of mast via jubilee clips. Everyone
Back injury due to improper lifting of mast Everyone Apply proper manual handling procedures when lifting the mast. Everyone
Head injury from falling equipment Team Members Members to wear hard hats when raising or lowering the mast Everyone

This Risk Assessment is not definitive – and all tasks will be completed whilst also using a dynamic risk assessment for any new risks.
